Geese
They aren’t conventional live. They have an old-school jamming vibe to the way their interpret their songs. it’s sloppier (except for the drummer who is tight as a Swiss watch) and frantic and quite different from the album versions. Remarkably, Cameron Winter’s voice is just as melodic and affecting. It’s its own thing and it’s fantastic.

The XX
They have become much better performer in the years since I saw them last (Admittedly, it has been 17 years!) Romy has developed into a far better singer and Jamie is more dynamic, playing more percussions and relying less on samples. Cool light show rig too. But it would appear there best music is still from their first album.

The neighbourhood
Maybe some people consider this rock. It was pop as far as I’m concerned. And it was pretty lame. The kind of crap you suffer at a festival as you wait for the next band.

Olivier Forest
I was a bit distracted by the terrible sound of the drums. But aside from that, the rest of the band sounded good and harmonized well. A little bland musically for my tastes.

Wet Leg
Unfortunately the sound was poorly mixed. Voice was nice and clear, but the rest of the band was washed out. Mid-act the bass drum was adjusted way too loud. Rhian has been working on her choreography and arms but she gave an overly rehearsed performance that had a weird low-energy. Overall not nearly as good as the last show.

Wolf Alice
The whole bands rocks. They have a very polished rockstar presence. But Ellie remains the principal attraction. Pun intended. She sounds great and looks even better. But they have too many ballads.

Wunderhorse
Above average alt-rock with obvious 90’s grunge influences. They played well and sounded good. In fact, They got better throughout the set, but nothing to really catch my attention.

Rio Costal.
Tropical Khrangbin five piece. A laidback, groovy way to start Osheaga but more background music. little stage presence.
