The founding members of Anne Summers--Andrew Pontano & Alec Boyajy--were high school friends from Maryland; AS evolved from Shove, its predecessor. Comprised of Beatles' harmonies, a Rolling Stones' attitude, and an Elvis Costello edge, Anne Summers' music was popular with the D.C. indie-pop set. Anne Summers released two albums before splitting up (amicably) to pursue the 9-to-5 careers their lyrics lambasted.
