Ben Marston is an exciting young Jazz trumpet player and composer from Australia with a strong leaning towards the music of European artists such as Kenny Wheeler, Paolo Fresu, John Hassell and Enrico Rava. His first recording “Reconnaissance” reflects the influence of Kenny Wheeler, particularly his “Music For Large And Small Ensembles” and with his first recording Ben has focused on writing for a large twelve piece ensemble (as evidenced by the name of the band; 12 Tone Family).
