Ben Richter is a composer and accordionist from New England whose solo work draws from experimental improvisation, traditional klezmer practices, and contemporary chamber music. His chamber and orchestral compositions explore sound-worlds of constant transformation, combining slowly shifting timbres and sliding microtonal fluctuations to create quiet, haunting atmospheres. He is the director of the experimental chamber music group Ghost Ensemble, and has performed with The Dresden Dolls, Pauline Oliveros, and Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains.
