Bilal Karaman is a Turkish jazz guitarist from Istanbul. He was born in 1981, in Kars, Turkey. One of the most outstanding young artists in Turkey; Bilal earned a bachelors degree in Jazz from Istanbul Bilgi University (2000-2004) and had the chance to study with greats such as Lawrence Butch Morris, Ricky Ford, Donovan Mixon and Aydin Esen. In addition to jazz, he has also studied classical Turkish music. In 2009, he was awarded the first prize in a Jazz Guitar competition held in Istanbul, sponsored by Yamaha.
