This whole deal started when one of Zemtseff's bands, Bloodjustice, was in a period of conflict. Zemtseff continued to write music, and slowly but surely, Dead on Both Shoulders' debut album, The Beginning of the Beginning, was composed and recorded, entirely by Zemtseff.
