Eso-Charis was a Christian metal band formed in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Founding members Cory Putman, Matthew Putman, and Arthur Green eventually went on to join the band Living Sacrifice. Eso-Charis was originally called "Elliot". After about two years of playing shows, the band changed their name because of other bands using the name Elliot. "Eso charis" in Greek translates to "within or inside grace". In late 1997, the band recorded their first and only full-length album with Bruce Fitzhugh of Living Sacrifice.
