God Dethroned is a Dutch death metal band from Beilen. The band was formed in 1990 by vocalist and guitarist Henri Sattler, alongside guitarist Hans Leegstra and drummer Ard de Weerd. Sattler and Leegstra had previously played together in Dysentery. Leegstra left the group shortly after its formation and exited the music scene. The band recorded a demo titled "Christ Hunt" in 1991, after which bassist Marco Arends joined. Their debut album, "The Christhunt", was released on the German label Shark.
