Grim Ordeal is begin 2009 opgericht door Bram Bergevoet. De band, bestaande uit Otto Donk, Bram Bergevoet, Raymond Groenink, Bryan Zwiers en Rob Pol, is afkomstig uit Deventer en maakt een mix van thrash/metalcore/metal. Uptempo partijen worden subtiel afgewisseld met meer slepende en groovende stukken. Ook is het gebruik van 2-stemmige gitaarpartijen typerend voor de band.
