Hans Philip started his career by rapping over other artists' beats but instead wanted to find someone who could make original beats. Through mutual friends, he met Jens Ole McCoy in 2010, and together they created the halter project Skørmand. On 2 June 2011, they performed at the Copenhagen music festival Distortion. It was on this day that the musician duo began to believe that "maybe something cool could happen with the musical dream that had begun to sprout in them". They closed "Skørmand" down in 2012...
