Helen Scott was unofficially formed in the fall of 2009, when Emileigh Ireland and Lindsey Jane Haddad began their quest to entertain themselves via sound. Old Smuggler mixed with the humid nights of the Dirty South unexpectedly made the perfect setting for creating nonsensical but ethereal tunes. After a couple years of enjoying the improvisational side of music, the two met drummer Hannah Weyandt, and decided to sit down and turn their musical experiments into "real" songs.
