LaNena foi criada em 2019 durante a residência do selo Garimpo Brasileiríssimos no estúdio LabSônica, da Oi Futuro, para acompanhar a cantora Helena Peres. Além da cantora, o quinteto é formado por Gustavo Almeida na bateria, Leo Valor no piano, Marcos Xi no baixo e Pedro Schiller na guitarra.
