In the late Eighties/early Nineties Mentaur (originally known as Mordred) were extremely well-known on the London underground progressive rock circuit, and were one of the few that also toured outside the capital, playing gigs in both Scotland and Cornwall. During they existence they were known for their hard hitting style of music, which would be viewed now as a forerunner of the genre "prog metal". They released various cassettes, with 'Verdict' being the first one to really garner attention.
