promqueen is a second-generation queer Vietnamese American artist based in Austin, built on authenticity, vulnerability, tự nhiên (being natural), quirkiness, and cultural pride. She writes music for herself, her family, and for other Asian Americans who have ever felt caught between identities - “not Asian enough” and “not American enough.” Through multi-lingual pop and rap, promqueen turns honesty into celebration, making space for joy, softness, and self-expression.
