Russian Love was founded in 1986 in the countryside of northern Finland, in Haapavesi. The band started out as a goth group with strong influence from bands like Joy Division and Bauhaus. After two gothic rock / dark wave albums, "Negral" (1988) and "Flaw In The Cradle" (1990), and moving to the city of Oulu their music started to catch more color. On the third album, "Hover Jack" (1992), the band re-invented pop, rock, and loud guitars, and started their alternative period.
