With the release of their debut EP “Innocence Isn’t Easy”, Scarlet Oaks unveil five well-crafted songs that cover genera such as folk, soul, garage, indie and classic country. From the up tempo shuffle of “Saint Anne Street Blues” which pays homage as much to Gene Autry as it does to X, to the Motown inspired “Reckless Stars” which contemplates the blossoming of love while drinking bourbon in a Detroit parking lot, “Innocence Isn’t Easy” explores the despair, miscommunication and hopes that arise between two people.
