Starhick was born in 2003 when Kelly Sprouse met Jon Walsh at an open mike in downtown Boston. Jon thought that Kelly "had something" and (since Kelly couldn't really keep his guitar in tune) Jon thought Kelly really needed a backing band. Jon happened to have a whole band, named "Zipper" that was currently on hiatus. Kelly + Zipper = Starhick. And the name (Kelly never really liked it) was taken accidentally from a demo CD that the Cambridge House of Blues listened to before they hired this nameless band to play it's very first gig.
