Sugarshack was formed back in 2001 in an abandoned house of St-David d’Yamaska by Alexandre Chenette and his cousin David Cyr. The duo was soon rejoined by high school friends Alexandre Tessier, Mathieu Lemay and Jean-Michel Simard. By laziness and lack of better options, the band was named Sugarshack, the "Sugar Shack" being the bar where Vanilla Ice meets his “crew” in the 1991 movie "Cool as Ice".
