Born and raised in Harlem, New York, Swave started spitting rhymes at the age of 9. He studied martial arts and earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do and Shotokan. As a young man, he dreamed of someday making it to the NBA, but that faded as his passion and talent for music grew.
