Though its members hail from opposite ends of the country, Max Scher and Mollie Murphy formed The Kneecaps at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Covering songs by artists from Neutral Milk Hotel to Billy Joel, The Kneecaps fuse violin and acoustic guitar to cover their favorite songs. Through a bare bones approach to the music, they honor the musical stylings of artists who inspire them to play. The Kneecaps no longer play regularly. 2006's "Wash Your Hands Say Yeah!" is their only release.
