Tony Smiley aka The Loop Ninja records and performs with a loop pedal, a guitar, drums, keyboard and bass guitar, looping every single instrument to build a mix of world fusion dance with old school roots of 80's/90's new wave, beat boxing mixed with mongolian throat singing and a dash of middle eastern tabla. Smiley eschews the use of laptops or prerecorded tracks laying layers of live tracks. His style has been described as Jimi Hendrix meets Tears for Fears.
