After blink-182 split up in 2005, Travis Barker began exploring other musical interests. In 2008, he formed TRV$DJAM with Adam "DJ AM" Goldsmith. The duo was short-lived. After both artists suffered injuries in a September 2008 plane crash, Goldsmith relapsed due to the prescription pain mediation he was given. On August 29, 2009, Goldsmith died of a drug overdose and the duo was effectively over.
