Short-lived (1987-1988), “Zendiks” were a performing and recording ensemble based in San Francisco’s Mission District; Josef BRINCKMANN (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Bonnie KIRKPATRICK (keyboards, vocals), Federico GIL SOLA (drums), and Trey LONGSTRETH (bass). Produced by Vince WELNICK† (The Tubes and Grateful Dead), they recorded at The Tubes recording studio “Cavum Soni.” Zendiks also recorded at Wimmerland Studio (Occidental, CA), produced by Jerry WIMMER. Other musicians who performed or recorded with the Zendiks included David ANDERSON (drums) of Defectors, Gordon FRASER (guitar) of MDC, and Phil HOLDEN† (guitar) of the Electric Toys.
