Russdudeman July 21, 1984 at Cal Expo in Sacramento. Dio with opening bands Whitesnake and Y & T. DIo was great, as was Whitesnake. This was the first of what would be many Y & T shows for me. I've seen them now somewhere around maybe 30 times. That was the shit for me back then seeing them on the In Rock We Trust tour. Great metal show. Pretty sure I went with my high school pals Doug and Wendell. Dio / Whitesnake / Y&T Sep 15, 2024

Russdudeman June 10, 1984 at the Concord Pavillion. Three Dog Night with Steppenwolf. The Concord Pavillion was brand new and the backstage I remember was one little bar, a hot tub, and a tiny patio area. Three Dog Night on the 'It's A Jungle' tour. Went with my brother, along with pals Pat and Alex. TDN just killed it. Three Dog Night / John Kay & Steppenwolf Sep 15, 2024
Russdudeman May 11, 1984 at the Cow Palace in San Fransisco. Van Halen with opening band The Velcros. This was a huge show for me- a real big deal. VH were THE band that year during my junior year at Davis High School. Just a perfect show. I can remember being on the barricade right in front of the band for most of the show- right in front of my heroes. The Cow Palace is truly one of the great concert venues. Nothin' fancy, just a great smokey, sweaty room where with the right band on the right night it doesn't get better. Lots of music history in that building. To this day I have still never seen as big a party in the parking lot of any show- there were bottles everywhere. It was a sight to behold. People partied before the concerts in those days like it was an Olympic event Van Halen / The Velcros Sep 15, 2024

Russdudeman April 21, 1984 at Cal Expo in Sacramento. My first real concert outside of Three Dog Night. The Scorpions with opening band Bon Jovi. The Scorps were amazing that night- what a show. Went with my high school buddies Jerry and Danny. During the show I was thinking man I gotta do this more. Scorpions / Bon Jovi Sep 15, 2024
Russdudeman Went and saw Three Dog Night with my brother and a couple of friends, after the Warriors basketball game Vs. Utah. This would be the first of many shows at the Oakland collesium for me. Great concert. Golden State Warriors / Utah Jazz Sep 15, 2024
Russdudeman Giants vs. the Mets on April 30, 1982. Dad took the family and we watched the Giants win 9-11. Man oh man I remember Candlestick Park was freezing that night. First ballgame I ever went to San Francisco Giants / New York Mets Sep 15, 2024
Russdudeman The very first batch of concerts I went to- all Three Dog Night and all GREAT shows. This was back when it was all the original members except for the original bass player Joe Schermie. They still had the original 3 singers and I've still never heard harmonies quite that good to this day. In 1982 I was 15 so these shows all made a huge impression on me. Three Dog Night Sep 15, 2024
