Scott Knick If my memory serves correctly, this is also a show where The Ocean had to perform their material without the singer as he had broken a leg or done something similar. The Ocean / Intronaut / Red Fang Apr 10, 2024
Shining-Star This is Biloxi, MS not Mobile, AL! Sarah McLachlan Apr 10, 2024
cheetahgrrls concert starts 8 PM EST ‪♡‬ OnlyOneOf Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick This was in the heyday of Blues Traveler's best albums before they got way too commercial. This was a very odd show with a tiny crowd, and it was very memorable as I was a huge fan of theirs because of Travelers and Thieves. This was also when Bobby Sheehan was still alive. Blues Traveler Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Great show in a nice venue. I distinctly remember Kottke playing Disco, a favorite of mine. Leo Kottke Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Wayfarer put on a memorable show, and then Baroness came out and dominated. They were incredibly energetic and in top form. Baroness / Wayfarer / Destiny Bond Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick A very quiet, subdued crowd didn't help Riverside make this a good show, and they were about an hour late because their tour manager thought it would be fine to drive a tour bus through the Rockies from Salt Lake City overnight in the winter. Riverside Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick I took my teenage son. This was his first concert. 311 / New Politics Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick The show where I learned of and became a fan of Leo Kottke. I vaguely remember a joke (one of many in his dialogues) about Kafka and someone in the crowd laughing very loudly. Leo Kottke / Joe Pass / Pepe romero / Paco Pena's Flamencura Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick The first concert I ever went to... My mom and her boyfriend dropped me off, and I remember sitting up in the nosebleed seats and the older guy next to me offering me a smoke from his joint. Rush / Mr. Big Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick A very poorly-attended show, but Vanden Plas sounded good. There were a couple of opening bands but they were mostly forgettable. Vanden Plas Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick The absolutely loudest show I've ever seen. Devin Townsend was incredible. Steve Vai Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Gojira were of course fantastic, but seeing the tall, skinny Kéké of Trepalium looming over the crowd was something else. Trepalium was quite a force. Gojira / Trepalium / No Return Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick After having seen Baroness in the much smaller (and sweatier!) Raucherkammer next door a few years earlier, this was a massive show in comparison. I remember Baizley was ecstatic because of the crowd when he came out. Closet Disco Queen played a great set to get the crowd going, and it was the first time I heard about the 2-piece band with two members from my favorite The Ocean lineup. Baroness / Closet Disco Queen Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick 311 were in top form at this show, and it was extremely energetic. 311 / Alien Ant Farm Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Very small crowd for such a great lineup. Haken / Bent Knee / Leprous Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Incredibly fun festival, and spending part of one day having lunch in Dinkelsbühl was great. I got to meet-and-greet several favorite bands, including Enslaved and Obscura (and I guess The Ocean since I have Anthropocentric signed and don't recall meeting them at any later show I saw them at). When meeting Obscura, I had a chat with Hannes Grossmann about the upcoming Blotted Science EP and he was very excited about it. Summer Breeze Open Air 2011 Apr 10, 2024
Cookie well, what an incredible daythat lead into the most wonderful and emotional night...We arrived Denise, Pete and myself to begin lining up at around 7am, yes we are keen, there were about 8 people, all good friends ahead of us that we chattded to throughout the day, told stories and took photos together. We watched the trucks being unloaded, heard the sound check and dodged the crowds that flocked to the park for the thrill rides but our biggest thrill was awaiting us inside the Big Top. I rushed to the front, the barrier was my prime location in front of Jim Moginie. They opened to a roaring crowd with the 1980 classic Knifes Edge and the place went balistic !! Mid way through the set, the Oils played, as promised< the entire 10-1 album, which of course included some old favs that I hadn't ever heard played live, Scream In Blue and Maralinga. Only the Strong had special meaning that night, my dear cousin Morgan had died recently, and I wept many tears as the Oils stirred the crowd with this classic anthem and I sang my heart out for my cousin, miss you mate You could have knocked me over with a feather as at the end of the gig, Rob Hirst's drum tech came straight down and handed me directly Robs' stage used set list !!!!!! INCREDIBLE, a night I will never forget, "THESE SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN YEARS" Midnight Oil / Leah Flanagan Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick I bought Intronaut's entire discography on CD from them since they were all hanging out in the merch booth, and they signed Valley of Smoke for me. I asked Sacha if he wanted a beer, and he was quick to say with a twinkle in his eye, "I would love one." Fun night. The Ocean / Intronaut / Red Fang Apr 10, 2024
Scott Knick Great show... Mario soft-tossed me a drum stick at the end of the Gojira set (we were standing against the barrier on the left side of the stage). Brann gave a silly speech at the end of Mastodon's set. Gojira / Mastodon / Lorna Shore Apr 10, 2024
