 drunken sailor Was very excited to see the Kinks again, but also Arthur Lee & Love. Don't remember much of the Quartermass set, but Arthur Lee and Love did a great job, a joy to see them. The Kinks, however, were riding high with Lola... Unfortunately, Ray showed up drunk on his ass, the rest of the band hostile to him, and they managed 17 minutes... If you read this, Ray, I want my front of the house seat tickets price back ($11 for 2 seats). I saw them many years later and it was a great show (at Virginia Tech), but the best show I ever saw them do was an earlier one at the Fillmore, when they were 2nd billed to Spirit, and blew everybody away (October 18, 1969).  drunken sailor The band seemed a bit "disengaged". Played competently sang well, but no fire. Crowd went wild the whole night anyway. Band came out for first encore, got into it a bit more, waved and left. Came out for 2nd encore more enthused because of tremendous crowd reaction, finished and left. Lights up. NO ONE LEFT, crowd kept cheering for quite a while. Band came back out, now on fire. Played a LONG 3rd encore. Lights up, no one left again, still cheering. After a while, 4th encore and it was the best yet--they were absolutely smoking, and another fairly long encore, then they thanked everyone and left stage. Lights up, still no one leaving, still cheering. The Byrds came back out and said "Okay, but this is really it". Just played a few and slowed it down but great vibe, and then left after 5th encore. People went home very happy. One of the greatest concerts ever--though certainly did not start that way. The Byrds Dec 20, 2023

 spanishjohnny72 Istrionico, magnetico, coinvolgente, decisamente fuori scala nel piatto panorama attuale della musica italiana, il musicista toscano ci ha regalato ieri sera quasi due ore di spettacolo puro. Attraversando almeno quattro generi musicali (glam rock, folk, hard rock e cantautorato classico), indossando per un'ora i panni di uno Ziggy Stardust di Vetulonia e per un'altra quelli della Madonna di Edvard Munch quando era arruolata nell'esercito sandinista, Lucio Corsi ci ha trascinato in una girandola di emozioni degna di un carnevale fuori stagione. Scatenato, su palco grande leggermente più del mio salotto (e io non abito certo a Palazzo Colonna), accompagnato da una band molto tecnica, è stato l'artefice e il protagonista assoluto di una straordinaria esperienza live da ripetere assolutamente. Voto 10 Grazie a @yamagata72 per avermi segnato questo artista notevole durante l'ultimo concerto di Paul Weller: è stata un'assoluta sorpresa.  spanishjohnny72 Concerto a elevatissimo grado di spiritualità quello tenuto da Angelo Branduardi e Fabio Valdemarin ieri pomeriggio nella bella cornice dell'Abbazia di Morimondo. Due eccellenti polistrumentisti ci hanno accompagnato in un lungo viaggio tra ballate medievali, suggestioni francescane e canzoni popolari dell'Ottocento inglese. Non sono mancati i grandi successi del menestrello di Cuggiono e - fatte le dovute proporzioni - il concerto mi ha ricordato un po' quello di Sting nella cattedrale di Durham. Unico aspetto negativo le estremità degli arti superiori e inferiori congelate come durante la ritirata dell'ARMIR. Forse una stagione meno fredda sarebbe stata più adeguata.  spanishjohnny72 Sono passati trentasei anni da quando ho visto De Gregori e trentadue da quando ho visto Venditti per la prima volta e sinceramente stasera mi sarei aspettato di vedere sul palco due vecchie glorie che mi avrebbero dato una sensazione un po' nostalgica, invece questi due simpatici guasconi - un Sancho Panza e un Don Chisciotte del secondo Novecento - mi hanno davvero fatto ricredere. Toccando le corde dell'emotività, ci hanno accompagnato in un viaggio tra anni Settanta e primi anni Novanta che mi ha riportato ai tempi del liceo. È stato un concerto vibrante - come la voce di Antonello, incredibilmente nitida dopo sessant'anni di Marlboro rosse - ed elegante come la postura del Principe. Bisogna solo togliersi il cappello di fronte a due monumenti della musica italiana.
