 Aesthete Formed in 1988, Leftfield quickly became one of the most influential and innovative dance music acts of all time. Originally comprised of Neil Barnes and Paul Daley, Leftfield’s legendary live-performances paired with seminal albums, 1995s Leftism and 1999s Rhythm & Stealth (both Mercury Music Prize nominees), solidified their position as true pioneers. Leftfield, one of the UK’s most revered and innovative dance acts, released their album "This Is What We Do" last year, dedicated to Andy Weatherall. They announced a run of intimate UK tour dates to celebrate the release of this album, but these were postponed until this year.  Aesthete The atmosphere at the sold-out Deaf Institute gig was electric as most of the audience were clearly die-hard fans of the band, shouting their war cry "The View, The View, The View are on fire!" before the band came on stage. Rattling through the set list with their usual verve, I was delighted to hear them play my favourite song, "Grace", after only three tunes. The anticipated mosh pit wasn't as ferocious as I expected, but still very enthusiastic. The band were on top form so the audience were delighted, singing along to many of their hits. Unfortunately, a short time after the bass guitarist, Kieren Webster, and lead guitarist, Kyle Falconer, swapped instruments there was an incident. Kieren had annoyed Kyle in some way and Kyle violently lashed out at him! The attack was eventually brought under control by their manager, roadies and security, but the last seven songs on the set list were abandoned. Kyle returned on stage after a few minutes to apologise and play a song on his own, but then the lights went on and the gig was over. The View Jun 08, 2023

 Braden Galbraith What a zoo!! And a week after Woostock - purple microdots - bikers beating screaming long hairs into the dirt, people crashing fences & sneaking in - one night was enough - went with an other guy, we got stoned, then didn't find each other until the next morning. Bands remembered were: A Group called Smith, Canned Heat, Flying Burrito Brothers, Chicago Transit Authority, Alice Cooper & Little Richard. When Alice Cooper played, something happened on stage that caused the audience to turn around and run away from the stage.- almost a stampede. Little Richard was dancing on top of his piano saying "I'm the king, I'm the king, I'm the Queen" Coming down the next morning, I finally found my friend in rough shape.
