 northcountry44 Came from Arctic Canada (Whitehorse, Yukon Territory) to Seattle to see Claire Cottrill on the Sling Tour. My granddaughter saw her in Portland two days later. She gets a kick out of the fact that her gramps listens to many of the same artists she does. I was one of the only people at the concert with white hair. Claire had a very humble, genuine connection with her audience. As an old disc jockey from a radio station in Colorado in the 70s and a musician myself who played folk music in Chicago coffee houses in the same timeframe, I truly appreciated her writing. Her performance was as mesmerizing as her songwriting is haunting. Claire would make a great teacher. But the music world would miss her.  joga007 I was working for a small concession vendor at the time, we rented binoculars at different arenas and sheds between Richmond, Roanoke, Hampton, Hershey and Philly. We were hauling our gear to this show and the truck radio didn’t work so we had a little boom box we were using to listen to something on the drive down from Delaware. I think we were on the edge of the range for WHFS and we heard through static and dropouts. Static. Cobain. Static. Head. Static. Shotgun. What a sad day. And what a weird vibe for this whole show.
