 Ellie Mead So I recognize this will probably never reach the person I was beside in the pit, but if it does…hi, I’m the kid in the Cinema Bizarre shirt. This was my first concert and I only went for them. You didn’t even know who they were but you were so excited to chat about them with me. You looked out for me, and you genuinely made my experience so much better, even as the crowd booed the act I came to see. Especially then. You literally showed me what a pit is meant to be in the midst of watching everyone show what it never should, and I just hope you know it mattered. You’re the reason I tried again and went to another concert after. You’re the reason I raised my kids to be a friend in the pit instead of a passive bystander. My 18 year old just went to their first festival and they came back talking about people like you. My cousin, who chaperoned, told me later about all the times my kid was the person like you. Idk who you were. Idk anything else about you. I don’t even remember what you looked like. But you mattered to me that night.
