Georges A. Gauthier Lumineers, 2 Aug. The stage had no recognizable theme, the lights uninspired, the performance was flawless though devoid of distinguishing character and the songs are, to my ear, paint by number folk-rock simulacra. I left after 5 songs to go to bed. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Braids sounded as scintillating live as their lush albums. All new songs promises another solid addition to their discography Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier This was my third viewing this year, yet the U.S. Girls remain captivating as ever. Remy must have made some new converts as she lead the Osheaga festival goers around like a disco-funk-rock pied piper. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Beach House hasn't changed it's minimalist show in the last 6 years. Legrand occasionally throws her hair up against the abstract backdrop while Scally mostly sits with his guitar. Static as statues in the dark. They play their music, little else. Maybe nothing else is needed? Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier The Chemical Brothers represent the nineties for me, in a way grunge did not. This was the music I listened to and to this day I'd rather dance to techno than mosh, as I did last night. Back with another one of those block rockin' beats! Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier I don’t know if grandson manages to make all his show that amazing or if this was a lightning strike but his mix of earnest anger and desperation mixed with genuine gratitude and humility was deeply affecting. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Although I had tickets, I couldn’t make @mitski_ last concert in Mtl so I was both thrilled and dismayed to discover what I had I had missed @osheaga. Her minimalist, highly stylized performance was artistically brilliant & mesmerizing Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Nilufar Yanya’s sweet tunes are the product of an equally delicate musician. Beautifully sung without frills. Simplicity itself. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier CRI may be my new favourite MTL DJ. I’m not alone. Another favourite son of our fair city, Jesse McCormack played a few tunes along side him Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier I wonder how much effort Mac Demarco puts into his slacker image? The 8-bit video game-dirty bum-drunken-crass rocker bit is as contrived as a Trailer Park Boys character. He’s too good a performer and songwriter to care as little as he pretends Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Sigrid projects an incredibly honest image. Not the earnest angst of, say Lorde, but true innocent pop. She goes on without a special gimmick, sets, costume or even makeup simple Joie de vivre without pretence. It’s surprisingly compelling. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Metric is showing it’s age.(not just physically) the music has lost its vibrancy and though they go through the motions live, it all just feel tired. Or maybe be I’m just tired of them? Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Hozier’s appeal is obvious. He’s good looking, charming and writes social justice songs. Oh yeah, he sounds good too. I generally prefer my southern gospel rock from Nashville or Muscle Shoals but Ireland will do; in a pinch. Osheaga Music & Arts 2019 Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier Finally saw A Tribe Called Red. I love how they speak to the horrors of Canadian history by enriching our collective culture. Daniel Lanois / Kevin Morby / Feist / La Force / The Halluci Nation Oct 31, 2025
Georges A. Gauthier The always amazing Daniel Lanois played his Red Dead Redemption song. I think I was alone in that cultural Venn diagram. Daniel Lanois / Kevin Morby / Feist / La Force / The Halluci Nation Oct 31, 2025
