Ric Kilmer This was the second of two consecutive nights that I saw Neil Young at the Paramount, performing acoustic sets. Neil Young Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer Neil performed two or three consecutive nights at the Paramount. I attended two nights. They were all acoustic shows, no rocking electric. On this night I sat right up front, middle, in the "Golden Circle" seats. After the concert ended, I noticed tat Neil had left a guitar pick on his stool. My concert mate and I had a "tussel" over who had first dibs and thus rightful claim over that bronze-colored HERCO Flex 50 pick, eventualy settling on cutting it in half for both os us. Neil Young Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer The band was riding high at the time with its cover of Neil Diamond's "Red Red Wine." UB40 / The Smithereens Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer I brought in a Rockman cassette recorder and recorded some 80 minutes or so of this show. I still have that cassette tape to this day. Perhaps I should digitize it. Paul McCartney Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer A live track from Neil's "Time Fades Away" LP was recorded during this concert. So, I guess you could say you can hear me (and many others) cheering on that recording. Neil Young / Linda Ronstadt / David Crosby Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer Need I say more? I finally got to see Paul live. I saw George in 1974, then Ringo a few times later. Sadly, I never got to see John. Paul McCartney Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer Of the three times I've seen Paul live, this was the greatest of 'em all. What a super show! Paul McCartney Dec 15, 2020
Ronald Burke The band Toe Fat opened the show. Elton John followed them, then headliner Derek and The Dominoes closed the show. Derek and the Dominos / Elton John Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer BTW: this was an afternoon show, and it was a nice hot sunny day. Eagles / Joe Walsh / Steve Miller Band / Jesse Winchester Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer I was an intern at NARF in Boulder the Summer of 1978. Great show! Other sites say Jesse Winchester opened this show, but I thought it was Jesse Colin Young of the Youngbloods. Too many years ago to remember precisely. Eagles / Joe Walsh / Steve Miller Band / Jesse Winchester Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer This was the 2nd or 3rd time I saw Crowded House. The first was in 1986 at Parker's, Seattle. I later saw them at Bumbershoot (what year?), then at the Paramount with Roger McGuinn, then again at the Paramount in May 1994 with brand-new act Sheryl Crow opening. Crowded House / Roger McGuinn Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer The Band backed up Dylan. I remember Rick Danko broke two bass guitar strings. Two! Bob Dylan / The Band Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer Parker's used to be the old Spanish Castle (where a young Jimi Hendrix performed): https://www.seattlepi.com/local/seattle-history/article/Historic-Parker-s-dance-hall-demolished-4102836.php Marshall Crenshaw Dec 15, 2020
Ric Kilmer This was the Stones's "cherry picker" tour, where Mick would climb into a cherry picker and hover over the crowd. My seat was behind the stage. The Rolling Stones / The J. Geils Band / The Greg Kihn Band Dec 14, 2020
Ric Kilmer This was had been scheduled much earlier, but Young got the flu, as I recall. So the show was rescheduled to this date. Man, this was a superb show. It really proved that Young added that something special to their overall live sound. David Crosby / Stephen Stills / Graham Nash / Neil Young / Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young Dec 14, 2020
Ric Kilmer I remember that Peter forgot the lyrics to one song, stopped the band, then re-started it after someone (an audience member?) reminded him of the words. (And boy do I have a story about a lost ticket, etc., for this show.) Peter Gabriel / The Call Dec 14, 2020
Ric Kilmer I am uncertain of the exact date. I remember Peter walking among the crowd, at least at the end. He was wearing a green T-shirt, as I recall. I slapped him gently on the back as he walked by and he was really sweaty. Peter Gabriel Dec 14, 2020
Ric Kilmer I also saw Ringo's first All Starr tour, at the Gorge; then at the Seattle Pier, and later at Seattle's Moore Theater. None of those three other shows are on this site, yet. I don't remember the exact dates. (I may still have the ticket stubs. I'll look for them.) Ringo Starr / Mark Rivera / Ringo Starr And His All Starr Band / Paul Carrack / Colin Hay / John Waite / Sheila E. Dec 14, 2020
Ric Kilmer I definitely saw this show. It was a free lunchtime concert on "The Steps" when I was attending UCLA. The school often had concerts and the like on those steps. Also saw comedian Prof. Irwin Corey on those steps on another day. Talking Heads Dec 14, 2020
