Kurt Nielsen	DAVID BYRNE – ROSKILDE 2026 At 74, David Byrne proved on Friday night at Roskilde Festival that age is irrelevant when creativity is still bursting with life. The Arena stage was packed to capacity, and we were lucky to secure decent spots. A big thank you to our camping chairs from Jysk, which made it possible to queue comfortably well before the concert. From the very first note, we were drawn into a world where music, dance, film, stage design and choreography merged into one extraordinary artistic experience. Twelve musicians, singers and dancers, all dressed in blue, moved constantly across the stage with astonishing precision. The concert opened with images of our fragile blue planet. Throughout the evening we travelled through cities, nature and humanity, reflecting both hope and concern for the world we share. It was beautiful, thought-provoking and deeply moving. The bassist was outstanding – a dark-haired version of Tina Weymouth – and the entire ensemble performed with remarkable energy and precision. This was much more than a rock concert; it was music theatre at its very best. The setlist was a perfect blend of classics from Talking Heads and songs from Byrne’s solo career. Hearing “Psycho Killer” and “Burning Down the House” performed live, with thousands of voices singing along, was unforgettable. Between songs, Byrne shared his thoughts on the challenges facing our world with his unique combination of intelligence, curiosity and offbeat humour. He doesn’t preach—he invites us to think. That is a rare gift. I have seen many great concerts over the years, but this one will remain among the most original and complete artistic performances I have ever experienced. Tim McAleer	I remember going to this concert. One of many concerts at this venue and many shows of The Cars. The Cars performed their songs from the first album and stayed to numerous standing Ovations. Foreigner started their show extremely late and the crowd was calling for the Cars to return.
