 stephenhuerta Talk about a killer show, both bands kicked some major ass. Where do I start: First of all, this was Pelican’s first show in San Francisco in 11 years. I didn’t know that, so I was definitely surprised. The way I see it, in my opinion, this was Pelican’s second SF debut, they knew it and they didn’t disappoint. They apologized for the 11 year delay, whole heartedly, which I can appreciate. Their set was incredible, tight and in excellent form. My first time seeing Pelican, and it won’t be my last. Russian Circles totally took the show, they fuckin’ just literally kicked ass. I wasn’t surprised, for I had seen them last year at the C3 Stage in Guadalajara, Mexico, and they kicked ass there too. Incredible! Then there was Gerardo, the drummer of Vinnum Sabbathi, an amazing band out of Mexico City. He just happened to be working in Watsonville, about 2 hours away. I received a message from Román Tamayo, telling me that Gerardo was in town, so I called him, told him “I’ll be the first in line, so look for me”, sure enough, he showed up. We made a bee line for the balcony, we had the best, and only seats in the house. So Gerardo tells me that this is his first concert in the US, and was I surprised, my second surprise of the evening. So I told Gerardo, this isn’t just any ordinary first US concert. Your first US concert is at the (world famous) Fillmore, I proceeded, “I don’t know anyone else who’s ever seen a first US concert at The Fillmore, Gerardo that’s special, Gerardo that automatically comes with bragging rights, this isn’t just any show or any venue, you have bragging rights”. We both got a chuckle out of that. An amazing and incredible evening in San Francisco. It had been many years since the last time I had been to The Fillmore, I couldn’t ask for a better experience in my favorite city in the whole world, San Francisco, this is where it all started.  stephenhuerta I’ve been wanting to see The Bevis Frond for quite some time now. I was supposed to see them in October 2024, but their visas got hung up, so the tour was canceled until now, March, 2025. I’m so glad I did, it was a fun show, even though it didn’t sell out. The GAMH set up tables and chairs up front, I was first in line, so I had the best seat in the house. The Bevis Frond were in excellent form.
