Bill Mair Jerry Doucette joined numerous bands prior to his solo career, starting with The Reefers at the age of 11. He became a renowned Canadian guitarist, singer-songwriter, and leader of the band Doucette. He was noted for his hit single "Mama Let Him Play", which made the Billboard Top 100. His band won the Juno Award for Most Promising Group of the Year in 1979. Jerry Doucette's debut album Mama Let Him Play (released in the fall of 1977 on Mushroom Records) was officially certified Platinum in Canada in 1978, surpassing the 100,000 units sold milestone. (His second LP, The Douce is Loose, reached Gold status the following year, in 1979.) The title track, "Mama Let Him Play," remains one of the most iconic Canadian classic rock hits, peaking at No. 46 on the Canadian charts and charting on the US Billboard Top 100. NOTE: I saw Doucette on December 31, 1978 (New Years Eve) at the Stampede Corral in Calgary Alberta where he was awarded on stage his certified Platinum album for "Mama Let Him Play". The New Year's Eve concert featured Doucette, Chilliwack and Fosterchild. Chilliwack / Doucette / Fosterchild Jun 25, 2026

Aesthete The performance that changed live electronic music forever: Daft Punk, Alive Tour, 2007. In 2007, Daft Punk launched the Alive Tour and redefined what a live electronic music show could be. Armed with their iconic pyramid stage, groundbreaking visuals, & seamless mashups of their own catalog, they created an experience unlike anything audiences had seen before. The tour became one of the most influential live performances in electronic music history, inspiring countless artists, stage designers, and festival productions that followed. Nearly two decades later, Alive 2007 is still considered one of the greatest live electronic music performances ever created, a benchmark that continues to influence the industry today.  Aesthete Whether by design or continuation of the lighting problems, Daft Punk started playing in the pitch black tent, with just their headlights visible. After a few minutes, their light show kicked in to enormous enthusiasm from the crowd and myself. One of the most impressive musical experiences of my life. The festival was Daft Punks first Scottish show in over 10 years which made the set a "must see" for many of the 35,000 festival goers. Rockness Festival 2007, Day 2 Jun 24, 2026
