IWPCHI Music	If memory serves, this show was not at "The Metro", it was at the Paradise on Commonwealth Avenue; it was on a hot summer afternoon, and there was almost no one there, maybe 100 people, because all the students in Boston were still on summer break (terrible timing and lousy promotion - probably why SFAIK Iggy never played the Paradise again)! That didn't matter to Iggy - he and the band came out and played their asses off as if the place was packed, which blew me away - the dedicated professionalism of real musicians (first time in my young concert-going life I had seen that occur)! On top of that, the lineup included Gary Valentine and Clem Burke of Blondie - and I think also other members of the Blondie band, possibly Frank Infante and Jimmy Destri were in the band that day. All in all, still one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen, & it inspired me to go out & buy Iggy's excellent "Party" album, which is IMO one of the best rock albums of the 1980s without question. Jacob Carley	I was AT this show! This was the first of 22 times ive seen them to date. Back in the day the Boise area was just starting to get decent tours coming thru. So every rock/metal show that stopped there, the local inbreds would mosh like it was a SLAYER show or something. A couple times Maynard was heard telling the crowd to mellow out. After the 2nd time he had to say something. And during the song ÆNIMA i saw what looked like a SHOE flying through the air, like it was in slow motion or zero g. It flew towards the stage and if memory is correct it struck Adam or there was a near miss. After they finished the song maynard says "Aaalright Boiiizzzee, we have a SPECIAL treat for you tonight. This is something we have literally NEVER DONE live in the history of tool! (the crowd goes total apeshit) PEACE......(long pause)...OUT!" Eel Pie completist	Having left Humphrey Lyttelton’s band, saxophonist and clarinetist (Malcolm) Bruce Turner (1922-1993) formed his Jump Band, and as such represented a more swing / mainstream approach to jazz, as opposed to the Trad style which was prevalent in virtually every other act at this point. On his debut with Lyttelton’s band in 1953, his alto sax work was unappreciated by the band’s fans, who unfurled a banner bearing the legend “Go Home Dirty Bopper” – he had developed a be-bop style during the Forties. E.Fud	Seeing a concert at Woodland Park zoo in Seattle requires the concert goer, who is paying good money for a ticket (~$89), to significantly adjust their expectations: normal respect show for the performer and the performance (attention focused on the music, refraining from having loud conversations that have nothing to do with the music or immediate issues, etc) is often absent because many in the audience are just there as a pleasant summer evening to socialize, picnic, have an enjoyable outing with their young children - all good… just frustrating when you’re the one trying to listen to the music. I have been telling that exact same Johnny Winter story for over 50 years and I am so old now that I sometimes think to myself, “did that really happen?” So good, it was not a hallucination. Another rather bittersweet memory of Memorial Hall was the cold winter night I went to see Howlin Wolf. A freaking giant of the blues universe and there were maybe 25 people there. How could you be a true Stones fan and not go see the Wolf? About that MacTullCocker show. I was seriously considering going AWOL from Fort Leonard Wood. I was drafted into the army on December 1 which also happened to be the day that draft lottery numbers were selected. Mine was 314.
